How to maintain the punching mold of CNC busbar processing machine
Regular maintenance of molds is important as it can extend their service life.
1. Ensure the optimal mold clearance, which refers to the sum of clearances on both sides when the punch enters the lower mold. Different plate thicknesses and materials should use lower molds with different gaps. Choosing appropriate mold gaps can ensure good punching quality, reduce burrs and collapses, maintain the flatness of the sheet metal, effectively prevent material carryover, and extend the lifespan of the mold.
2. Due to the pressure and heat during stamping, small particles of the sheet metal will adhere to the surface of the punch, resulting in poor punching quality. The adhesive can be removed by polishing with a fine oilstone, and the polishing direction should be the same as the movement direction of the punch.
3. If many holes are punched on a board, they should be punched every other hole first, and then the remaining holes should be returned for punching. This effectively alleviates the stress accumulation during sequential punching in the same direction, and also causes the stress of the front and back two sets of holes to cancel each other out, thereby reducing the deformation of the board.
4. Try to avoid cutting narrow strips as much as possible. When the mold is used to cut plates with a width smaller than the thickness of the plate, the punch will bend and deform due to lateral force, and the gap on the other side will be too small or wear will be intensified. In severe cases, it will scratch the lower mold, causing both the upper and lower molds to be damaged.
Timely grinding can effectively extend the service life of the mold. When the wear of the mold edge produces a circular arc with a radius of about 0.10mm, it needs to be sharpened. When grinding, the grinding amount is 0.03-0.05mm each time, and repeat the grinding until the punch is sharp. After grinding, use an oilstone to polish the blade edge, remove burrs, perform demagnetization treatment, and apply lubricating oil.
6. Regularly check the alignment of the upper and lower mold seats of the busbar processing machine. If the alignment of the punch die position is not good, it will cause rapid passivation of the mold and deterioration of the machining quality of the workpiece. The mold holes and guide keys on the turntable should be inspected and lubricated, and any damage should be repaired in a timely manner; Clean the lower mold seat of the turntable for accurate installation, and check the wear of its keys or keyways, replacing them if necessary.
